Responsibilities include: 

  • Contact new and existing Federal customers based on assigned accounts (Navy), to discuss their needs and to explain how these needs could be met by specific company products and services.
  • Travel to customer locations to present company products, services and pricing information in a professional manner.
  • Meet and establish relationships with vendors, manufacturers and partners that impact assigned accounts. 
  • Develop, recommend and assist with strategies and proposals for bids/contracts with account assignments.
  • Apply technical knowledge of company products and services to best meet customer needs.
  • Understand and support company sales policies and procedures to provide proper and effective service to all customers, and foster the development of long term business relationships.
  • Research and resolve issues, complaints and anomalies with contracts and clients in a timely manner and notify management of problems and suggest corrective actions.
  • Generate sales focused on the VAR Solutions Group offerings, including proactively pursuing product opportunities as well as, professional services, coordinating with sales engineering and the technical services division, coordinating with sales engineering and the Technical Services division to assist in allocating resources.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of five years of experience in sales, business development or related field
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and experience working with the Federal Sector to include government contracting.
  • Knowledge of the IT field.
  • Knowledge and understanding of both the Federal Acquisitions Regulations and State and Municipal Agencies.
  • Proficiency with all aspects of Microsoft Office.
  • Direct Sales Experience working with Navy accounts

Work Requirements:

  • Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to Speak, Read, Write and Comprehend the English language.
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Design software; Internet software; Email software: Spreadsheet software and Word Processing
